Asian Terminals Funding Rounds

DateStageInvestorsRaisedValuationRev. MultipleDeal Summary
Mar-26SecondaryMaharlika Investment Corporation--Maharlika Investment Corporation completed settlement of its acquisition of shares in Asian Terminals on 17 March 2026, becoming a strategic minority shareholder in the Philippine port operator. MIC had announced in December 2025 that it intended to acquire up to 11.2% through direct share purchases and a tender offer conducted alongside ATI's voluntary delisting from the Philippine Stock Exchange. The completed tender process involved 177,612,478 common shares, of which 101,189,675 were allocated to MIC and 76,422,803 were acquired by ATI through its own share-buyback program. MIC's allocation included shares purchased from Seawood Resources, Kayak Holdings and Asiasec Equities as well as shares tendered by public shareholders. The fund did not disclose a single transaction consideration tied solely to MIC's completed allocation in its closing release, so no deal amount is recorded; its September 2026 results separately described PHP4.79 billion of additional ATI share acquisitions during the first half. Asian Terminals operates Manila South Harbor, the Port of Batangas, Batangas Container Terminal and inland logistics facilities serving Philippine trade and supply chains. The business earns revenue from cargo handling, terminal operation, storage, cranage and related logistics services and reported PHP20.08 billion of revenue in 2025. MIC said the investment gives the Philippine state an economic interest and governance participation in nationally important port infrastructure while leaving operations under private-sector management. Because MIC acquired existing shares from selling shareholders rather than injecting new capital into ATI, the transaction is classified as a secondary investment. The deal is separate from MIC's January 2025 acquisition of an economic interest in National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, which is already recorded in the database.
