Gigaset Overview

About Gigaset

Gigaset AG is the German corporate entity formerly named ARQUES Industries AG. Under the ARQUES name, it operated as a listed investment holding company that acquired and restructured businesses in transitional or financially distressed situations. Its portfolio included operating companies in multiple industries, with value generated through restructuring, ownership development and disposals rather than solely through management of third-party investment funds. Shareholders approved a change in strategy and name in December 2010, and the company announced the Gigaset identity in February 2011. The revised operating focus centered on its Gigaset Communications subsidiary and the telecommunications and accessories market, particularly cordless DECT phones. The group generated revenue through manufacturing and selling telecommunications products internationally. The 2011 announcement identified Munich as the administrative location and distinguished the listed parent from its operating subsidiary. This historical continuity explains ARQUES-era investment transactions recorded against the same parent company.

Rohner
Description
Rohner AG was a Swiss specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical-intermediates manufacturer based in Pratteln near Basel. The company operated production facilities on its own approximately 35,000-square-meter site and supplied customers in pharmaceutical and other fine-chemicals markets. Its business involved manufacturing chemical intermediates and providing custom production capabilities for industrial clients, generating revenue through product and manufacturing-service sales. It formed part of Dynamit Nobel's custom-synthesis activities and subsequently belonged to the Novasep group after Rockwood's 2004 acquisition and business combination. The company encountered financial difficulties following the loss of a major customer and underwent restructuring before its sale to ARQUES in March 2006. The new owner continued restructuring and development of the life-sciences and fine-chemicals activities. Contemporaneous reporting described 2005 sales above EUR30 million and production capabilities meeting US pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
