Salesloft Acquisition

Salesloft was acquired by Clari for an undisclosed price on 7 August 2025.

Before the acquisition Salesloft had raised $246M across 7 funding rounds.

Clari and Salesloft, both Revenue Orchestration category leaders, announced a definitive merger agreement on August 7, 2025, which closed on December 3, 2025. Salesloft is a sales engagement and conversation intelligence platform that automates personalized outreach, cadence management, and buyer signal capture to boost seller productivity and shorten sales cycles. Clari is a Revenue Orchestration Platform that leverages structured and unstructured data from revenue interactions into a time-series data model, managing over $5 trillion in revenue for enterprises. The merger created a combined entity serving over 5,000 organizations globally with $10 trillion in annual revenue under management, including customers such as Adobe, IBM, 3M, Zoom, and Shopify, with a combined annual recurring revenue of approximately $450 million. The strategic rationale centered on consolidating market leadership and accelerating toward IPO by combining the two largest players in the emerging Revenue Action Orchestration (RAO) category. The combined company aimed to deliver the broadest revenue AI dataset and workflow coverage spanning all revenue teams—marketing, commerce, sales, operations, and front-line sellers—across the entire revenue cycle. Andy Byrne, Clari's co-founder and CEO, was initially set to lead the merged entity, though Steve Cox was appointed as CEO upon closing in December 2025. The companies committed to doubling R&D investment to build what they branded the "Predictive Revenue System," introducing new AI agents and capabilities including Account Research Agent, Person Research Agent, Revenue Cadences, and an AI Action Hub for Revenue Strategy. However, post-merger integration challenges emerged, with duplicate products from prior acquisitions (Copilot from 2022's Wingman acquisition and Groove from 2023) overlapping with Salesloft's conversation intelligence and sales engagement offerings, and platform unification pushed to future roadmap cycles with no joint product roadmap published by merger close.

The company, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, reported a unicorn valuation exceeding $1.1 billion in early 2021 (January), following strong growth including 401% revenue increase over the prior three years (71% CAGR) and ranking 1210 on the Inc. 5000 2021 list. In June 2021, Salesloft raised $100 million in a growth round led by Blue Owl Capital Corporation with participation from Bossa Invest, Emergence Capital, Employee Stock Option Fund, Endeavor Catalyst, HarbourVest Partners, and Insight Partners, though specific post-money valuation for this exact round is not separately stated and aligns with the prior $1.1 billion unicorn status. By the prior quarter to August 2021, Salesloft surpassed $100 million in ARR, reflecting 50% annual growth and nearly 40% revenue growth since the early 2021 valuation announcement, far exceeding its financial plan. The company expanded internationally with +125% growth in EMEA over the trailing twelve months, opening a German data center and planning to double European staff. Salesloft enhanced its offerings with product innovations like Cadence Outcomes and Deal Engagement Score, acquired revenue consulting firm InStereo, and earned top scores in The Forrester Wave: Sales Engagement Q3 2020. It served a global customer base, including US firms operating in Asia and Australia, amid pandemic-driven demand for digital sales tools across segments from enterprises to Main Street businesses. Later developments included Vista Equity Partners' $2.3 billion majority acquisition in 2022 and a merger with Clari, creating a revenue orchestration entity with over $450 million combined ARR serving 5,000 customers.
