Post-IPO, Xurpas pursued acquisitions and investments resembling a venture capital strategy, betting on startups in high-growth mobile and tech sectors. By 2017, its stock had declined significantly to P5.57, described as expensive relative to income levels. Xurpas reported substantial losses post-2016, totaling P3.5 billion from 2018 to mid-2020, contrasting earlier profits of P787 million from 2014-2017. Founders injected P150 million in loans in 2020 to fund ventures amid digital transformation opportunities during the pandemic.
