About Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders is a professional American football team in the National Football League, based in the Las Vegas area of Nevada. The franchise was founded on January 30, 1960 in Oakland as a charter member of the American Football League, played in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994, returned to Oakland in 1995 and moved to Las Vegas in 2020. It plays at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, a 65,000-seat venue that opened in 2020 at a cost of about $1.9 billion, including $750 million of public funding, and has its headquarters and training facility in Henderson. May 2026SecondaryJoseph Baratta; Michael Meldman; Mark Shapiro; Michael Dell; Ariel Emanuel; Egon Durban$9.9BNFL owners approved in May 2026 the sale of a 25% equity stake in the Las Vegas Raiders by minority investor First Football to a group led by Silver Lake co-chief executive Egon Durban. The transaction valued the team at $11 billion in total consideration, including a 10% flip tax paid to the other 31 clubs, on an underlying equity valuation of $9.9 billion. Durban added 11% to his previous 11% stake, taking his own interest to about 22%, and Discovery Land founder Michael Meldman also increased his holding. New minority owners joined the club: Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell with 5.3%, Blackstone's Joseph Baratta with 1.7%, TKO chief executive Ari Emanuel with 1.4% and TKO president Mark Shapiro with 0.6%, according to the Sports Business Journal. Mark Davis retains his controlling stake of about 30%, and in March 2026 the league had approved a succession plan giving Durban a right of first refusal should Davis sell control. Durban and Meldman first bought 15% of the club in December 2024 at a $6.5 billion valuation. The Raiders moved from Oakland to Las Vegas in 2020 and play at Allegiant Stadium.
Dec 2024SecondaryMichael Meldman; Egon Durban$6.5BNFL owners approved on 11 December 2024 the sale of a 15% equity stake in the Las Vegas Raiders to Silver Lake co-chief executive Egon Durban and Discovery Land founder Michael Meldman, who had each agreed the previous month to buy 7.5% of the club. The purchase valued the team at $6.5 billion including the 10% transfer fee the buyers pay to the league, according to CNBC. The sale followed controlling owner Mark Davis's earlier sale of 10.5% to Tom Brady, Richard Seymour and Tom Wagner, approved in October 2024. Davis remained the controlling owner and kept all decision-making authority. Durban went on to increase his holding in 2026 and was granted a right of first refusal should Davis decide to sell his controlling stake. The Raiders were founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League, moved from Oakland to Las Vegas in 2020 and play at Allegiant Stadium.
Oct 2024SecondaryTom Wagner; Tom Brady; Richard Seymour-NFL owners unanimously approved on 15 October 2024, at the league's fall meeting, Tom Brady's purchase of a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, completing a deal first agreed with controlling owner Mark Davis in May 2023. Brady took about 5% of the team, and together with Knighthead Capital co-founder Tom Wagner, his partner in English club Birmingham City, the pair held about 10%. Hall of Fame defensive lineman Richard Seymour was approved as a minority owner at the same meeting, and reports put the combined equity sold by Davis to the three at 10.5%. The approval took 17 months because owners were concerned that Brady was receiving too large a discount and that his role as a Fox broadcaster created a conflict of interest; the league placed restrictions on his access to teams. The price was not disclosed. Davis remains the controlling owner with all decision-making power. The Raiders were founded in 1960, moved from Oakland to Las Vegas in 2020 and play at Allegiant Stadium.
Oct 2007SecondaryPaul Leff; Dan Goldring; David Abrams$750MNFL owners approved on 24 October 2007 the sale of a 20% minority interest in the Oakland Raiders by the Davis family to a small group of East Coast investors, voting unanimously and without debate at the league meeting in Philadelphia. The group was led by David Abrams of the investment firm Abrams Capital, Paul Leff, co-founder of the hedge fund firm Perry Capital, and Dan Goldring, a managing director at Perry. The investors became limited partners with no control of the franchise, and owner Al Davis and his family kept their controlling interest. The price was not disclosed at the time, but the group later was reported to have paid US$150 million, valuing the Raiders at about US$750 million, while Forbes then valued the team at US$812 million. The investor group held its stake through an entity called First Football, which sold just over 25% of the club to a group led by Egon Durban in 2026. The Raiders, founded in 1960, were based in Oakland at the time and moved to Las Vegas in 2020.
