Valaris Ltd is an offshore contract drilling company. The company provides offshore contract drilling services to the international oil and gas industry with operations in almost every offshore market across six continents. Its business consists of four operating segments: Floaters, which includes drillships and semisubmersible rigs; Jackups; ARO; and Other, which consists of management services on rigs owned by third parties. It generates the majority of its revenue from the Floaters segment.
Ocean Rig UDW was an Athens-headquartered offshore drilling contractor operating in ultra-deepwater environments until its 2017 bankruptcy. The company owned 11 drillships and two semisubmersibles capable of 12,000-foot water depths, serving contracts in the Gulf of Mexico and Angola. Assets were acquired by Transocean in 2018, transferring operations to its fleet.
Songa Offshore is a drilling contractor specializing in midwater operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the company owns and operates two semi-submersible rigs, Songa Saturn and Songa Mercur, each with 10,000-foot water depth ratings and 40-slot well capabilities. Deployed under multi-year contracts with Equinor and Aker BP, the rigs support exploration and production in harsh North Sea environments since the company's inception in 2014.
