Sandisk is vertically integrated, producing substantially all of its flash chips at manufacturing sites across Japan via a joint-venture framework with Kioxia. Sandisk then repackages most of its chips into SSDs for consumer electronics, external storage, or cloud storage. Sandisk was formerly a piece of Western Digital for nine years (after being acquired in 2016) and was spun off as an independent company in 2025.

KLA is one of the largest semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment, or WFE, manufacturers in the world. In this section of the market, KLA holds a majority share. It also has a small exposure to the etch and deposition segments of the WFE market. Kioxia Holdings is a Japan-based semiconductor memory manufacturer focusing on NAND memory chips. Founded in 1995, BYD is a leading Chinese manufacturer in the design, development, and production of new energy vehicles, or NEVs. In March 2022, the firm discontinued production of internal combustion engine, or ICE, vehicles. Its products primarily target the growing midpriced mass-market segment in China’s passenger vehicle market.
