Description
KAPS Pipeline, formally the Key Access Pipeline System, is a 575-kilometre natural gas liquids and condensate pipeline running through Alberta, Canada. It carries condensate and NGL production from the liquids-rich Montney and Duvernay resource plays in the province's northwest to a liquids processing and storage hub at Fort Saskatchewan in Alberta's Industrial Heartland, with a design capacity of roughly 350,000 barrels per day. The system was completed in 2023 and is operated by Keyera Corp., one of Canada's largest independent midstream energy infrastructure companies. Originally developed as a joint venture, it came under Keyera's full ownership in June 2026 when the company acquired the remaining 50 percent non-operating interest from infrastructure investor Stonepeak for approximately C$1.215 billion.
Plains Canadian NGL is the Calgary-based unit of Plains All American managing natural gas liquids extraction, fractionation, storage, and pipeline transport. Its facilities process NGL from Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin sources.
