About OneTeam Partners
OneTeam Partners is an American sports licensing, athlete marketing, media and investment company that commercializes the group name, image and likeness rights of professional and college athletes. It was launched in November 2019 as a joint venture between the NFL Players Association, the MLB Players Association and RedBird Capital Partners, which seeded it with a $125 million investment for a 40% stake. OneTeam negotiates group licensing deals for video games, trading cards, apparel and other consumer products, sells sponsorship and athlete marketing programmes to brands, and produces original and branded content and live events. It describes itself as the commercial engine behind twelve players associations and tens of thousands of professional and college athletes, including the players of the NFL, MLB, MLS, WNBA, NWSL and the U.S. Women's National Team. In September 2022 HPS Investment Partners, Atlantic Park and Morgan Stanley Tactical Value bought RedBird's stake. In 2025 an FBI probe of OneTeam extended from the MLBPA to the NFLPA. In April 2026 it launched EnOne Ventures with EnTrust Global to back companies across the sports ecosystem, and the NWSL Players Association became an equity partner. Sean Sansiveri is chief executive.

| Sep 2022 | Secondary | HPS Investment Partners; Atlantic Park; Morgan Stanley | - | $1.9B | RedBird Capital Partners sold its 40% stake in OneTeam Partners, the group-licensing company it had founded with the NFL Players Association and the MLB Players Association, to a syndicate of HPS Investment Partners, Atlantic Park Strategic Capital and Morgan Stanley Tactical Value, the company announced on 15 September 2022. People familiar with the transaction told Sportico the deal valued the three-year-old business at about $1.9 billion, more than five times its value at formation; Front Office Sports reported a profit for RedBird of roughly $600 million. The NFLPA and MLBPA remain owners, and OneTeam described the transaction as a recapitalization that positions it for its next chapter of growth, including diversification of the business beyond its founding unions. The incoming firms were expected to be more passive investors than RedBird, which had helped build the company from its launch in November 2019, when it agreed to seed OneTeam with $125 million for a 40% interest. Latham & Watkins advised the NFLPA on both the formation and the sale. OneTeam manages and commercializes the collective name, image and likeness rights of professional athletes, starting from established licensing franchises in video games and trading cards such as Madden NFL and MLB The Show, and extending into content, sponsorship, youth sports, digital collectibles and venture investing. By the time of the sale it represented the commercial interests of more than 10,000 athletes, including the players associations of Major League Soccer, the WNBA and the US Women's National Team in addition to the NFL and MLB unions. |
| Nov 2019 | Strategic investment | RedBird Capital Partners | $125M | - | The NFL Players Association, the MLB Players Association and RedBird Capital Partners launched OneTeam Partners on 18 November 2019, a new company built on athletes' collective name, image and likeness rights. RedBird agreed to seed the company with a $125 million investment in exchange for a 40% stake, while the two unions split the remaining 60%. OneTeam took over the unions' group-licensing rights for video games and trading cards, with existing revenue from franchises such as Electronic Arts' Madden NFL and Sony's MLB The Show, and planned to expand into mobile gaming, digital trading cards, youth academies, esports, content and venture investments in consumer startups that license player rights. The company was described as independently capitalized. NFL Players Inc. president Ahmad Nassar was named chief executive and RedBird operating partner Brent Stehlik president, and the board included DeMaurice Smith, Tony Clark and RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale. The unions said the structure would give players a larger share of the value created from their collective rights. OneTeam later added the players associations of Major League Soccer, the WNBA and the US Women's National Team as partners. RedBird held its stake until September 2022, when it sold it to HPS Investment Partners, Atlantic Park and Morgan Stanley Tactical Value in a deal that valued OneTeam at about $1.9 billion. |
