Cornelli Brand Packaging Experience
Tieng
Description
Cornelli Brand Packaging Experience is an Italian packaging company based in Rivolta d'Adda in the province of Cremona. It was set up as a new company by Cornelli S.r.l., a corrugated packaging business founded by the Cornelli family in 1877, to take over its production and trade of corrugated cardboard boxes and its design and delivery of branding techniques applied to packaging. After the sale to Grifal, Andrea Cornelli, previously a non-executive director of Grifal, became its chief executive and Grifal's vice chairman. Grifal planned to concentrate its traditional corrugated processing activities in the company and to use it as a second production site in a neighbouring area, in the interest of both growth and disaster recovery.
Tieng is an Italian engineering and machinery company based in Zanica in the province of Bergamo, founded by the Boffi family. It designs and builds resin and adhesive bonding equipment and packaging automation plants, with installations in several countries. It had been a strategic supplier to Grifal and developed the adhesive application equipment used on the cArtu production lines. Its operating business had a 2019 production value of EUR 2.8 million and EBITDA of about EUR 160,000. Giancarlo Boffi, who has about thirty years of experience in machinery design and construction, was its general manager and became chief executive of the company inside the Grifal group. In June 2021 Grifal moved its own corrugating machine design and production area into Tieng.
