Eneva Overview

About Eneva

Eneva is a Brazilian integrated energy company active in natural-gas exploration, production, commercialization and thermal power generation. Its operating model links domestic gas resources with power plants and energy-market activities, allowing fuel supply and generation to be managed within one group. The company owns generation assets across several Brazilian states and sells electricity under regulated contracts and market arrangements. It also develops gas infrastructure and commercial solutions intended to connect onshore resources with industrial and power customers. Eneva is publicly listed in Brazil and expanded its installed capacity through multiple acquisitions. The 2024 purchases from Banco BTG Pactual added thermal plants in Espírito Santo and Maranhão to Eneva's operating portfolio.

Latest Acquisitions by Eneva

Gera Maranhão
Tevisa Termelétrica Viana
Povoação Energia
Focus Energia
Description
Gera Maranhão is a Brazilian thermal-power generation company whose operating assets are located in Miranda do Norte, Maranhão. The business owns the Geramar I and Geramar II fuel-oil-fired power plants, which together provide approximately 331 megawatts of installed capacity. These dispatchable facilities participate in Brazil's interconnected electricity system and operate within the country's regulated generation framework. Before November 2024, ownership was divided equally between Banco BTG Pactual and Eneva. Eneva acquired BTG's remaining 50% interest and became the sole owner of the generation company. The plants now form part of Eneva's broader thermal portfolio and complement its integrated natural-gas, power-generation and energy-commercialization operations across Brazil.
Tevisa Termelétrica Viana is a Brazilian thermal-power generation business located in Viana, Espírito Santo. Its operating assets comprise the Viana fuel-oil plant and the Viana I natural-gas plant. The two facilities have approximately 175 megawatts and 37 megawatts of installed capacity, respectively, and participate in Brazil's interconnected electricity system. Their contracted generation supports grid reliability and provides dispatchable capacity alongside intermittent and hydroelectric resources. Banco BTG Pactual controlled the company before transferring it to Eneva in 2024 through a transaction involving several power assets. Eneva now operates the plants within its integrated natural-gas and thermal-generation portfolio and reports them as part of its Espírito Santo generation base.
Povoação Energia is a Brazilian thermal-power generation company operating a natural-gas-fired plant in Linhares, Espírito Santo. The Povoação I facility has approximately 75 megawatts of installed capacity and participates in Brazil's interconnected power system. Its dispatchable generation can support grid reliability when demand or system conditions require thermal output. The plant operates under the regulatory and contractual framework governing Brazilian electricity generators and sells power rather than consumer-facing products. Banco BTG Pactual controlled the company before selling it to Eneva in 2024 as part of a larger energy transaction. Eneva now includes Povoação within its Espírito Santo thermal portfolio alongside the Viana and Linhares generation assets.
Focus Energia is a São Paulo-based energy intelligence firm focused on distributed generation projects, energy trading, and efficiency management services in Brazil's power sector. The company operates trading desks for electricity and natural gas markets, provides risk hedging instruments, and develops photovoltaic and wind farm initiatives under Brazil's regulated and free energy markets. Focus Energia manages portfolios exceeding gigawatt-scale capacities through proprietary analytics platforms that forecast consumption patterns and optimize procurement strategies. Founded in 2009, it partners with utilities, industrial consumers, and renewable developers to navigate ANEEL regulations and execute long-term power purchase agreements.
