SevenRooms Acquisition

SevenRooms was acquired by DoorDash for $1.2B on 6 May 2025.

Before the acquisition SevenRooms had raised $69M across 7 funding rounds.

DoorDash, a global platform for local commerce specializing in food delivery and merchant services, acquired SevenRooms, a New York City-based hospitality CRM and operations SaaS provider, for $1.2 billion in an all-cash transaction announced in May 2025. SevenRooms develops a platform that helps restaurants, hotels, and hospitality businesses manage reservations, deepen guest relationships, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth, serving over 13,000 venues globally including Marriott International, MGM Resorts International, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Wolfgang Puck, and Union Square Hospitality Group. As part of the deal, growth equity investor PSG sold its minority stake in SevenRooms to DoorDash. The acquisition integrates SevenRooms into DoorDash’s Commerce Platform to enhance capabilities for restaurant and hospitality partners, enabling merchants to boost in-store sales, build direct customer relationships, access advanced CRM tools, and improve profitability through smarter marketing across delivery, pickup, reservations, and in-person channels. DoorDash VP of Strategy and Operations Parisa Sadrzadeh stated the move equips local businesses worldwide with tools to attract more guests and grow sustainably. SevenRooms CEO Joel Montaniel emphasized accelerating their mission to help operators understand guests and thrive inside and outside their venues, with SevenRooms leadership joining DoorDash to further develop offerings leveraging DoorDash’s scale, resources, and global reach. The deal, announced alongside DoorDash’s $3.8 billion acquisition of UK rival Deliveroo, is expected to close in the second half of 2025 subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, following DoorDash’s earlier $175 million purchase of ad tech firm Symbiosys to expand advertising capabilities.

Jun 2020Undisclosed stagePSG Equity (lead); Daniel Schryer$50MSevenRooms is a fully-integrated, data-driven guest experience platform for the hospitality industry, offering CRM, marketing, operations tools, reservations, ordering, and capabilities to build direct guest relationships for restaurants, hotels, nightlife, and entertainment venues. On June 25, 2020, it raised a $50 million Series B funding round led by Providence Strategic Growth (PSG), with participation from Daniel Schryer among prior backers like Amazon Alexa Fund, Comcast Ventures, and BoxGroup, bringing total funding to about $75 million. The round, described as a significant up round from a prior estimated $28 million valuation, aimed to fuel global expansion, enhance the end-to-end platform, and scale beyond restaurants into hotel groups, with PSG's Adam Marcus joining the board. The investment occurred amid COVID-19 challenges in hospitality, yet SevenRooms was close to profitability and did not urgently need the capital, using it to pursue ambitious product development from a list of seven initiatives. CEO Joel Montaniel highlighted PSG's expertise in scaling vertical SaaS platforms, positioning SevenRooms as the only 360-degree solution addressing the full guest journey. The company served high-profile clients and focused on increasing operator loyalty, revenue, and profitability. Later developments included a 2023 Series C-1 at $1.79 billion post-money valuation and a 2025 $1.2 billion acquisition by DoorDash, where PSG sold its minority stake.
