On April 7, 2026, the medical technology giant Hologic, Inc. completed its major take-private acquisition by funds managed by Blackstone and TPG in a transaction valued at up to $79 per share, representing a total enterprise value of approximately $18.3 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, stockholders received $76 per share in cash alongside a non-tradable contingent value right (CVR) of up to $3 per share, which is tied to the future revenue performance of Hologic's breast health business. Following the closure of the deal, Hologic was officially delisted from the Nasdaq, retained its headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and appointed José (Joe) E. Almeida as its new Chief Executive Officer to succeed the retiring Stephen P. MacMillan.
