| Date | Stage | Raised | Valuation | Deal Summary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mar 2021 | Undisclosed stage | $200M | $1.3B | Everlywell (now Everly Health), founded in 2015 by Julia Cheek and based in Austin, Texas, provides at-home health testing kits for conditions like thyroid issues, allergies, food sensitivities, and added FDA-authorized COVID-19 home collection kits in 2020, alongside a digital health platform and expanding virtual care offerings. The company had completed a $175 million oversubscribed Series D round in December 2020 led by General Catalyst with participation from BlackRock, The Chernin Group (TCG), Foresite Capital, Greenspring Associates, Lux Capital, Morningside Ventures, Portfolia, and existing investors like Goodwater Capital, Highland Capital Partners, and Next Coast Ventures, valuing the company at $1.3 billion post-money. Proceeds were earmarked for expanding virtual care, scaling testing infrastructure, clinical research, disease management, and growing its position in the at-home testing market. In January 2021, shortly after the Series D, Everlywell raised an additional $75 million from HealthQuest Capital in a venture round that provided liquidity to existing investors while maintaining the $1.3 billion valuation from the prior round. HealthQuest Capital's focus on diagnostics commercialization and connections to hospitals and payers was expected to aid Everlywell's shift toward enterprise operations with employers and health plans. By then, over one million people had used its tests and platform since 2016, with significant growth driven by COVID-19 testing boosting demand for other products. J.P. Morgan acted as placement agent for the Series D, bringing total funding raised to over $250 million including a prior $50 million round in 2019. The company positioned itself to lead in convenient lab testing amid pandemic-highlighted challenges, aiming to integrate rapid testing with virtual care for chronic disease management and clinical trials. |
