Applecart Acquisition

Applecart was acquired by Blackstone for $700M on 29 December 2025.

Before the acquisition Applecart had raised $5M across 2 funding rounds.

Applecart, founded in 2013 and headquartered in New York City, develops marketing technology software that enables senior executives at large corporates, communications agencies, and non-profits to identify and engage key business, media, and policy stakeholders for brand marketing, investor relations, and public affairs. Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, led a $100 million Series C minority growth equity investment in Applecart in late 2025, valuing the company at approximately $700 million post-money. The deal was announced in January 2026, with Blackstone’s growth equity business providing the funding to accelerate expansion and innovation in data-led stakeholder engagement platforms. Vishal Amin, Senior Managing Director at Blackstone, highlighted the platform’s role as a trusted partner for addressing critical business priorities, backed by strong client feedback. Applecart co-CEOs and co-founders Matt Kalmans and Sacha Samotin emphasized Blackstone’s status as a gold-standard investor and partner to leading tech firms like OpenAI and Snowflake. The updated board includes Blackstone representative, founder and CEO Risa Heller, Kalmans, Samotin, and Ari Emanuel, who led the 2018 Series A as CEO of Endeavor and remains as TKO Group Executive Chairman and WME Group Executive Chairman. Canaccord Genuity advised Applecart financially, with Cozen O’Connor as legal counsel, while Simpson Thacher & Bartlett represented Blackstone. The investment underscores private equity appetite for enterprise software combining proprietary data and recurring revenue amid selective growth funding, positioning Applecart to compete in B2B martech, public affairs, and targeted influence technologies.
