Dec 2022Series CCastrol India (lead); EXOR$84MmyTVS, operating under Ki Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (KMS), a digital subsidiary of TVS Automobile Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and part of the TVS Mobility Group, is India's first full-stack online-to-offline (O2O) digital platform providing quality, standardized, and cost-effective automotive aftermarket services for two- and four-wheeler owners. It integrates consumers, retailers, service garages, and fleet operators via its 'myTVS' brand, offering services through its own outlets, franchise network, at-home services, and roadside assistance. As of late 2022, myTVS served three million customers across 270 cities, with a network of 20,000 service garages and 10,000 retailers and fleets. In its Series C funding round around December 2022, myTVS raised a total of INR 690 crore, comprising INR 487 crore (approximately USD 59 million) from Castrol India Limited—marking Castrol's largest all-cash deal and acquiring a 7.09% stake in tranches—and INR 203 crore (approximately USD 24.52 million) from an Exor fund managed by Lingotto, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EXOR N.V. Castrol India led the round, with the investments structured as growth equity. This followed Exor's prior INR 350 crore investment in 2021, bringing Exor's total stake to 11.5% post-investment. The funds are allocated to scale the O2O business model, expand the network, invest in technology for services and spares platforms, develop the automotive aftermarket ecosystem, repay debt, finance acquisitions, build the brand, and pursue global expansion. The collaborations, particularly with Castrol, aim to leverage strengths in lubricants, services, maintenance for ICE and EV vehicles, and digital operations to structure the fragmented aftermarket sector and empower entrepreneurs. myTVS positions itself as a technology-driven leader in India's growing automotive aftermarket, with strong execution by its management team, as noted by investors. The transaction was advised by DC Advisory and highlights partnerships with market leaders in the automotive space.
