Jul 2026Series BFinSight Ventures (lead); Plug and Play; Krealo; Universidad Católica Andrés Bello; Amador Holdings; Endeavor Catalyst; NuMundo Ventures; Washington University in St. Louis; Spice Expeditions$60MCashea raised US$60 million in a Series B round that closed in June 2026 and was led by FinSight Ventures, a venture firm that invests in financial technology. Spice Expeditions, which had led the company’s Series A three months earlier, returned alongside Endeavor Catalyst and Plug and Play. The round drew an unusually broad institutional base for a company operating in a single frontier market, including the endowment of Washington University in St. Louis and the Latin American investors Krealo, Amador Holdings, Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and NuMundo Ventures. Cashea disclosed the round on 21 July 2026 together with a previously unannounced US$40 million Series A, presenting the two as US$100 million of new capital, all of it earmarked for investment inside Venezuela. Management said the money would widen access to consumer credit, improve merchant liquidity and fund new payment products. Cashea was founded in Caracas in 2022 by Pedro Vallenilla and operates a buy-now-pay-later app that lets shoppers pay for everyday purchases in interest-free instalments without a credit card, earning commissions from merchants rather than interest from borrowers. At the announcement it had more than 10 million consumer accounts, about 40,000 affiliated stores and more than 100 million transactions processed since launch. No valuation was disclosed.
Mar 2026Series ASpice Expeditions (lead); Architect Capital$40MCashea raised US$40 million in a Series A round that closed in March 2026 and was led by Spice Expeditions, a venture firm that backs consumer finance companies in markets other investors overlook. The round was split evenly between US$20 million of equity and a US$20 million debt facility provided by Architect Capital, an asset-backed lender to financial technology companies. Cashea kept the financing private at the time and disclosed it on 21 July 2026 alongside a larger Series B, presenting the two rounds together as US$100 million of new capital. The company said the whole amount would be invested inside Venezuela to widen access to consumer credit, improve merchant liquidity and fund new payment products. Cashea was founded in Caracas in 2022 by Pedro Vallenilla and runs a buy-now-pay-later app that lets shoppers pay for everyday purchases in interest-free instalments without a credit card. It earns commissions from the merchants that accept it rather than interest from the people who borrow. At the time of the announcement the platform had more than 10 million consumer accounts, a network of about 40,000 affiliated stores and more than 100 million transactions processed since launch.
