What Financial Data APIs Cost in September 2026
Last verified: Sep 8, 2026Enterprise financial data APIs (Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, LSEG, PitchBook) are usually quote-only, very expensive, and require a sales demo.On this page we group the published prices and user-reported (estimated) ranges for all major financial data APIs.
Most financial data platforms sell their APIs as an addition to the main platform license, and do not publish pricing. Reported ranges are an additional $30k-$100k+ per year for the API access.
Due to high data sensitivity, redistribution rights and "reselling" is often difficult to negotiate, and most API contracts are custom-quoted.
Out of investment-grade APIs, Multiples is an affordable alternative to FactSet, Capital IQ and PitchBook. Pricing starts at $1,499 per month for each dataset (private or public comps). Multiples API is powered by FactSet and Morningstar data.
Reported ranges in this table are sourced from procurement data platforms, user reviews (G2, TrustRadius), press, and Reddit posts.
Treat prices shown on this page as directionally correct, but not guaranteed to be accurate. API contracts vary more than platform licenses, because they are priced on datasets, usage, and redistribution rights.

API providers that publish pricing
Multiples: the API is part of the Enterprise plan starting at $1,499/month per dataset, with 200 requests per minute. Datasets include public comps licensed by FactSet and Morningstar, M&A and VC data. MCP access is available at Pro Max ($399/month billed annually).
Intrinio: Individual $150/month (personal use only), Startup $333/month for six months then $666/month then $1,499/month, Enterprise from $1,250/month on custom terms.
Massive (formerly Polygon.io): free Basic tier, Starter $29/month, Developer $79/month, Advanced $199/month; the Financials & Ratios add-on is $29/month or bundled into Advanced.
Financial Modeling Prep: free Basic tier at 250 calls/day, Starter $22/month, Premium $59/month, Ultimate $149/month, billed annually.
Alpha Vantage: free at 25 requests/day, then $49.99/month for 75 requests/minute up to $249.99/month for 1,200 requests/minute.
API providers that do not (officially) publish pricing
FactSet: $30,000-$100,000+/year for API and feed access, quoted on top of the workstation license.
Capital IQ Xpressfeed: $30,000-$100,000+/year, priced by dataset and delivery method.
LSEG: $25,000-$100,000+/year, licensed per content set (equities, FX, fixed income and news are separate).
Bloomberg: the API bundled with a $31,980 terminal seat is licensed to that desktop only. Server-side access needs Data License or B-PIPE, quoted separately.
Morningstar: quote only, pricing unknown. The API is usually bundled with the Morningstar Direct platform license.
PitchBook: $70,000+/year for enterprise packages that include the API.
CB Insights: quote only.
Grata: quote only.
Harmonic: quote only, scoped to API usage rather than seats.
Crunchbase: reported from $30,000/year; the free API tier was discontinued.
Ranges are wide because API contracts price on datasets, call volume, history depth and redistribution rights. Option to resell data is often the single biggest price multiplier on a quote.
Costs beyond the license
Redistribution: commercial use of vendor data is a separate line item. Many vendors do not allow reselling or redistribution of their data if your product is seen as too competitive.
History and backfill: the full data history often costs extra.
Integration time: legacy financial data API providers may take weeks to months from first contact to first call, and their API docs are usually difficult to navigate. Modern providers like Multiples can get you up and running in minutes with clean documentation and example code.
