La Trobe Financial was acquired by Brookfield Business Corp for $1.1B on 18 March 2022.

Brookfield Business Partners, together with institutional partners in Brookfield's private equity funds, agreed to acquire La Trobe Financial from Blackstone and chief executive Greg O'Neill for approximately US$1.1 billion including a contingent payment tied to the business hitting performance milestones. The initial investment was funded with roughly US$765 million of equity, of which Brookfield Business Partners intended to provide about US$250 million and institutional partners the balance. The Melbourne-based non-bank lender then had more than A$13 billion of assets under management and over 50,000 retail credit fund investors; the transaction was announced on 18 March 2022 and completed in May 2022.
