iconectiv Acquisition

iconectiv was acquired by Koch Equity Development for $1.1B on 16 August 2024.

Before the acquisition iconectiv had raised $200M across 1 funding round.

iconectiv, LLC, headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey, provides information services, digital identity, and numbering intelligence solutions to over 5,000 service providers, regulators, enterprises, and content providers worldwide. The company serves as the U.S. Short Code Registry Administrator and U.S. Secure Telephone Identity Policy Administrator, and manages number portability in 10 countries including the United States. Originally acquired by Ericsson in 2012 as part of its $1.15 billion Telcordia purchase, iconectiv has been co-owned with Francisco Partners since 2017. Koch Equity Development LLC (KED), the principal investment and acquisition arm of Koch, Inc.—a privately held U.S. company with up to $125 billion in revenue and 120,000 employees—announced an agreement on August 16, 2024, to acquire iconectiv from Ericsson and Francisco Partners affiliates. The transaction completed in August 2025, making iconectiv a wholly-owned independent subsidiary managed by its existing leadership team led by CEO Richard Jacowleff. Financial terms were not publicly disclosed, though Ericsson reported a cash benefit of approximately SEK 9.9 billion (USD 1.0 billion) after taxes and expenses, with an initial agreement value cited as SEK 10.6 billion ($1 billion). The acquisition aligns with KED's focus on telecommunications software and data services, following its 2021 purchase of Transaction Network Services, Inc. (TNS), a leader in call authentication and robocall mitigation. KED's resources position iconectiv for organic and inorganic growth amid rising demands for technological security driven by globalization and digitalization. Beginning January 1, 2026, certain iconectiv platforms will transition to TNS, while three solutions remain under iconectiv. Advisors included Jefferies LLC and Goldman Sachs for iconectiv financially, Latham & Watkins legally, and Jones Day for KED.
