CredPago Acquisition

CredPago was acquired by Loft for $555M on 2 July 2021.

The acquisition price implies a 28.6x revenue multiple on $19M of revenue.

Loft, a Brazilian proptech unicorn, acquired a 49% stake in CredPago, a real estate fintech offering rental services without guarantors, from Banco BTG Pactual on June 29, 2021, for BRL 1.6 billion. The deal structure involved BTG Pactual receiving proceeds in cash over up to 24 months and Loft shares, subject to regulatory approvals. This was Loft's fifth acquisition, aimed at expanding client services and integrating financial products to facilitate real estate transactions with personalized solutions. CredPago's platform synergizes with Loft's business by providing property marketing solutions and new financial products for real estate companies. Post-acquisition, CredPago's platform merged fully with Loft, and its partners received minority shares in Loft. The transaction supported Loft's strategy to vertically integrate fintech capabilities into its real estate operations. This acquisition occurred amid Loft's growth phase, following funding rounds valuing the company at around $3 billion, and positioned it to compete in Brazil's proptech market against players like QuintoAndar.
