Brockton Capital invested in VIRTUS starting in October 2011 through its Fund II, committing up to £100 million over five years to support development and operations. In September 2014, VIRTUS secured £50 million in debt funding from Deutsche Bank to accelerate UK expansion and meet demand for intelligent data centres, with ongoing equity support from Brockton Capital. The company grew rapidly post-investment, becoming a leading colocation provider serving major tech firms. In June 2015, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) acquired a 49% stake, forming a strategic JV with Brockton retaining 51%, enabling further expansion from two to four facilities and plans for London's largest data centre campus near Stockley Park. By 2017, VIRTUS achieved a £500 million platform value, ranking 15th in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 for fastest-growing UK tech firms.
