Founder and chief executive Jørgen Dahl remained the majority owner following the transaction. The purchase involved existing shares and did not represent a disclosed primary financing round. Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement, although subsequent reporting by Finansavisen described a valuation of NOK10 billion including debt. The same publication reported 2018 revenue of NOK2,285.5 million. Sector Alarm provided alarm systems and security services to more than 530,000 customers across six European countries. KKR planned to support the company’s existing expansion strategy and further development of its operations. The company combined a Nordic operating base with activities in Ireland, Finland, Spain and France. Closing was expected during the third quarter of 2019. The transaction preserved founder control while introducing KKR as a substantial minority shareholder.
