Safe Life Acquisition

Safe Life was acquired by Bridgepoint Group for $540M on 13 June 2025.

The acquisition price implies a 2.0x revenue multiple on $270M of revenue.

Before the acquisition Safe Life had raised $31M across 1 funding round.

Safe Life, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a global leader in the distribution of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across North America and Europe. The company equips communities and workplaces with lifesaving AEDs, complemented by ongoing services such as CPR training, maintenance, and replacement parts like pads and batteries. Since inception, Safe Life has distributed over 500,000 AEDs globally, completed 40 acquisitions including ten in 2024 and further deals in France, Switzerland, Poland, and the US in 2025, and projects over €250 million in sales for 2025 in a highly fragmented, fast-growing medtech sector addressing cardiac arrests, a leading global cause of death. Bridgepoint, a leading quoted private asset growth investor, agreed in June 2025 to acquire a significant controlling stake in Safe Life, valuing the company at approximately €500 million (equivalent to $578 million or SEK 5.5 billion). Bridgepoint will partner with Safe Life's founders Jimmy Eriksson and Alexander Albedj, alongside reinvesting existing institutional investors Byggmästaren, Bonnier Capital, and Swedbank Robur. The strategic rationale centers on supporting organic expansion, aftermarket and training development, continued M&A, and international growth in a mission-driven, founder-led platform combining AED distribution with comprehensive services. The transaction, announced June 13-16, 2025, is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in Q3 2025. Bridgepoint received advisory from Jefferies (M&A), Vinge (legal), EY (financial/tax/operational due diligence), Strategy& (commercial), ERM (ESG), and Marsh (insurance), while Safe Life's owners were advised by Baker & McKenzie (legal), which has supported over 20 prior Safe Life acquisitions.
