Tail Ventures made a preemptive 50 million won seed investment in Innosus in 2022 at a corporate valuation of 15 billion won. Recently, Tail Ventures sold about 3% of its stake in Innosus to U.S.-based VC Altos Ventures for about 2.5 billion won as part of Altos' 10 billion won new share investment. Altos Ventures acquired some of Tail Ventures' existing shares alongside its primary new investment. This allowed Tail Ventures to recover five times its principal in about four years on the seed stake. Tail Ventures, founded in September 2020, retains a larger remaining stake in Innosus for future gains. Innosus plans to use the new funds from Altos Ventures to expand into North American and European markets and conduct R&D for next-generation products. Altos Ventures cited Innosus' growth potential in beauty technology as the investment rationale.
