Macquarie Asset Management acquired a 50% stake in Enel Green Power Hellas from Enel Group for approximately EUR 250 million (or EUR 345 million according to one source), with the transaction announced in July 2023 and closing finalized on December 29, 2023. According to Bahas Gramatidis & Partners, the total enterprise value of EGPH was approximately EUR 980 million for purposes of the transaction. The partnership was structured to leverage Macquarie Asset Management's Green Investments team expertise and global investment capabilities alongside Enel Green Power Hellas' established operational experience and development pipeline in the Greek renewable energy market. This transaction marked Macquarie Asset Management's continued investment strategy in Greek energy infrastructure, following its earlier 49% acquisition of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator in 2022.
